 Trendy Mullet returns to the funk with a very diverse EP for number 13. Bumpin Stooge is a fun cut of party house, whilst Vanilla Stooge is a bouncy tech funk number with a catchy hook and awesome percussion. On the remix we have TOM SPECIAL INTEREST, DREW TEMPEST & THE QUIRK BURGLARS. The Quirks remix is a bumping slice of jackin tech house with lots of quirk and slight minimal overtones. Drew goes for a deep techy number adding some nice brass, whilst Tom strips things down for a bass heavy house number.

 Johannesburg label WOT! Recordings continue their practice of having the biggest names in the deep house scene remix artists from South Africa. This time Office Gossip are invited to rework label owner Brett Jackson and long time production partner Orion, joining the ranks of Nick Holder, Matthias Tanzmann, Toka Project and Swirl People who have all appeared as remixers on previous EPs. ‘Change’ first appeared on Home Recordings in 2006 and is now given a new lease of life as the ‘Revisited Mix’, while fellow South African’s Aero Manyelo and Trancemicsoul also provide remixes. Vocals are provided by Jade, who also guested on Brett Jackson and Orion’s previous release ‘A House Is A Home’ for WOT in June 2008; a song which picked up great reviews and DJ support around the world.

 I just listened to Various Artists pt.2 tech house compilation released few days ago on Etoka Records. Etoka celebrates it's 20th release in style with a stunning compilation album. The record features many of the usual suspects, as well as welcoming some new artists to the Etoka family; Paskal, Deymare, Andy Hart, Fassbinder, Jaksa Pavicevic, Jose Quilez, Verano, SumSuch, Si Muir, Hannes Smith.  Check out this great deep-tech EP Just Believe, it's coming from croatian duo DJ Mary & MDR. It's released on Behaviors and you'll find 3 tech & deep house trax. One of my favorites is Runing (original mix). DJ MARY has been into electronic music since the end of the eighties beginning of ninetines, when he started with a refreshing choice of hard funky music, enriched with EBM (electronic body music), Acid House, New Beat and others.
