Daniel “Blackbelt” Andersen has been active in the Norwegian dance music community for a number of years. He got into electronic dance music in the early 90’s, and first started emulating the sound of Detroit techno on his father’s home computer. In the last half of the decade he bought his first turntables and a mixer, and was soon DJ’ing around Oslo. His first releases were on Canadian label Restructured Recordings and Prins Thomas’ first label Tamburin, under the name Kalle Magnus & Daniel, ... a collaboration with his childhood friends Kalle Sandås and Magnus “International” Sheehan. Through the last years he’s enjoyed success with his releases on Full Pupp, Trailerpark and Claremont 56 and recently remixes for fellow Norwegians Fjordfunk and the lowlands disco kings the Glimmers. His productions has licensed to a number of compilations like MOS Balearica(yes, a shit name…we know…) The Glimmers Fabric Live 31.

Three Shades Of Deep. Deeper Shades Recordings fans will remember the name Sinan Baymak as the co-producer and one of the remixers of DSOH003 I Miss The Things. The three track 'Space Love EP' showcases a much wider variety of Sinan's abilities to make people move without taking his productions over the top or relying on current formulas. Deep Morning brings a driving darkness to the floor that will work peaktime as well as afterhours. Wait until you see the peoples reactions after the breakdown. Space Love could be reminiscent of Kerri Chandler productions if Sinan wouldn't add his personal shuffle to this track. Chords that will rub you right act almost polyrhythmic while several solo lines tie the entire thing together. Brazoul is definitely the organic piece in this three slice pie. A rolling neverending upright bass supplies the base with drum and fx accents and string sequences to warm your heart. Jazzy key progressions round up this live sounding recording.

Lovebirds is the solo project of Hamburg resident Sebastian ‘Basti’ Doering aka one half of Knee Deep. We’re very pleased to welcome him to Freerange and what better way to kick off than with this highly refreshing slice of deep, Detroit influenced house known as The Rat. This one is a real slow burner which smolders along nicely with bowel moving bassline and rafter-reaching chord stabs. The breakdown is timed to perfection for maximum dancefloor pleasure and if that bassline doesn’t move your feet you must have had both legs amputated. Listen & Download here
