Kyodai - Mi Rumba

kyodai mi rumbaOn this, their Freerange debut, Kyodai get busy on two original tracks which fuse elements of deep house, melodic techno and afro into a high energy concoction which fits in with the current Freerange sound just perfectly.

Don't sleep on the amazing Genius Of Time remix where they’ve focused on the chiming arp sequences and looping marimbas, building up the layers over stripped back beats and 808 subbass. Then come the heart-wrenching chords, seeping into your soul and wrapping you up in cotton wool.

Q-Burns feat. Lisa Shaw - Innocent (Presslaboys Remixes)

Innocent (Presslaboys Remixes)After the release of Cole Medina's well-received remixes of "Innocent," Eighth Dimension and Q-Burns Abstract Message believed all versions of this classic tune had been tapped. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Italian DJ duo Presslaboys have taken everyone by surprise with a new pair of stunning "Innocent" versions. It seems that Presslaboys had prodded the remix parts from the hands of Q-Burns Abstract Message in an unguarded moment, stealthily concocting their version over a few months in their secret Presslab Records studio.

Kamo - Set The Routine

Kamo - Set The RoutineKamo are easily our tip for producers to watch out for as we enter into the summer of 2011. Niall & Liam are two Aussie brothers with a penchant for making proper late night wobbly house music that explodes with influences from funk, jazz, garage, hip hop and a little Mr Scruff! (Well they are based in Manchester). Having made their debut with their Roadblocks track just over a year ago the boys have since been signed to the legendary Classic recordings and have an EP out very soon on Hypercolour's sub label Loosing Suki. The two tunes from this EP are no exception, set the routine is a sleazy booty shaker with plenty of twists and turns and even manages a sample of bagpuss! Shoot your shot is kind of a disco edit that takes a wrong turn into hypnotic house.

DJ Ra Soul - Take It Slow EP

DJ Ra Soul - Take It Slow EPSo Sound Recordings are delighted to announce the capture of Deep House legend DJ Ra Soul. Fresh off the back of successful releases from Les Loups, Freaky Behaviour and Kid Enigma, Ra Soul serves up some prime deep cuts for the Miami label, straight from the Deep House capital of America, San Francisco.  Through the late 90's Ra Soul released his music with some of America's most respected underground dance labels - Large, 83 West and Guidance. During this period, his Soul Searching series of albums released on Large proved especially popular.

Label boss Jazzy Eyewear comments: “When I think about Ra Soul’s music, I get the feeling I used to get at the peak point of house music (1998 - 2000), when house was about happiness, love, feelings, emotions, community, soul, discovery and sharing. Listening to the 'Soul Searching' series on Large Records, marked a pivotal moment in my life, understanding & embracing House music.”
