Dominic Martin is the man responsible for the second installment of Lost My Dog’s ‘Family Affair’ series, which began in February 2011 with Harold Heath. The series of full-length projects aims to shine a spotlight on the artists that have shaped the sound of the label. Glaswegian Dominic presents a 14 track mix containing no less than eight brand new tracks made specially for the album and a new remix from Giom. The remaining five tracks mark Dominic’s personal LMD highlights including remixes of his work by house heavyweights Milton Jackson and Johnny Fiasco.
Covering the deeper side of house, Dominic Martin’s ‘Family Affair’ takes in influences from both Europe and the USA, most notably the classic house sound of Chicago and New York. The collection will be released as a digital download package of the DJ mix and individual track downloads in January 2012.
Dominic Martin’s journey with Lost My Dog began at the start of 2008 with two collaborations with regular cohort Chris Harris (‘Jazzmag’ and ‘King Of Swing’), swiftly followed with his debut solo outing ‘Touch Of Soul’ which was remixed by Milton Jackson. The three-track ‘East Glasgow Deep EP’ and a remix of Artie Flexs in 2010 continued the strong relationship between the Scotsman and LMD, and in 2011 he went under his Domsko guise, teaming up with singer-songwriter Astral T for the Johnny Fiasco remixed ‘Hard Yards’.
Away from Lost My Dog, Dominic Martin releases can also be found on Nordic Trax, Guesthouse, So Sound and Tronicsole amongst others. As Domsko he has released music for Potty Mouth, Toto, White Sessions and Second Coming, achieving several BBC Radio and Galaxy FM/Capital FM plays along the way.
