Ross Couch - The Directors Cut EP - Body RhythmYet another excellent release from Ross Couch! I listened to this EP so much that I forgotten to post it here. Great music, but here is Ross' own review; Whilst working on the 'Night And Day' album I came up with over 20 ideas, but there was only space for 12 on the final LP. The ideas that didn't appear on the album weren't neccessarily of inferior quality though, in many instances it was just that they either weren't finished in time or didn't fit style wise with the other tracks. For this new 'Directors Cut' EP I've chosen 3 of the ideas that didn't appear on the album and developed them into full tracks - enjoy! DOWNLOAD HERE

First up is 'Changing Seasons'. The basic idea for this track came together late in the album process by which stage there was a few other tracks such as 'Sounds Like Summer' and 'Love At First Sight' which also had a prominent 'strings' section in them so even though I felt I definitely had something with this one I decided I'd leave it for another day. In hindsight, now that I've had a chance to turn the initial 30 second idea into a full track I would have liked for this one to be on the album although I'm not sure which track I'd have left out instead. Either way I'm glad that it is now getting a chance to be released.

Next is 'Tell Me Why?'. Like 'Changing Seasons ' this one came along late in the album process. At that stage the idea still needed a lot of time to flesh it out fully and I already had my hands full finishing off other tracks so I had to put it on the backburner. I've since went back to it and added key elements like the strings, vocal part and reworked the bassline which has turned this into something that again I'd have been happy to have on the album.

Finally there's 'Hippies Groove'. This track was completed in time and was close to being on the album, but when I realised that I could only fit in 12 tracks to ensure it could fit onto a CD a couple of tracks had to be left out and this was one of them. Since then I've went back to it and added a couple of things and now it's getting put to good use!
