Cape Town’s internationally-signed three piece Bang Bang dish up another unique and original song for Leeds based house label Baker Street. With RueGroove’s vocals backed by exquisite deep and funky production courtesy of Matthew Prehn and Matthew Loots, ‘Love Insurance’ shows exactly why several leading underground house labels are currently sitting up and taking note of the South African band. Remixes from Demarkus Lewis and Hector Moralez provide alternative versions to bump the dancefloor.
Bang Bang’s style is a heady blend ranging from saloon funk to deeper organic house. With material inspired by disco greats, love lost and cheeky satire, both their live performance and records are attracting an ever growing audience. To date their music has appeared on the Kolour, Myna, Shrewd, Candy Music and Open Bar imprints, with future releases scheduled on Lost My Dog, Eighth Dimension and Blockhead.
Demarkus Lewis provides 3 remixes in the soulful yet techy and driving style that he has made his own. Demarkus is an unquestioned heavyweight on the house scene with well over 100 singles and remixes to his name for labels such as End Recordings, Slip n Slide, LowDown, Siesta Music and Large. He has also established his own label Grin Music which releases a blend of house and techno.
Like Demarkus Lewis, Hector Moralez has also established himself as an underground house music heavyweight. He runs two labels of his own, Minority Music and The Factory and alongside original productions for the likes of Robsoul, Detour, Vista, Brique Rouge, Doubledown, Music For Freaks and Hudd Traxx he records as one half of Fries & Bridges alongside Phil Weeks.
