Arturo Garces Luv - Jump Recordings

Arturo Garces Luv - Jump Recordings - JUMP-119Arturo Garces’ ‘Luv’ has been in the pipeline for some time.  After initially being featured on Eddie Richards’ promo-only mix in support of his Fabric CD back in 2004, ‘Luv’ is now finally set to see the light of day on Garces’ own label Jump Recordings, which is based in San Jose, California.  Alongside Garces’ original version and ‘408 Edit’, remixes are provided by Mustafa (of Subliminal Soul/Yellorange fame), E.B.E. (Lucas Rodenbush), TBF (aka Tiberiu Fratila) and U-Clique (a new alias for Clique Trax owners and Om Records artists Uneaq).  The six versions cover warm deep grooves, chunky dancefloor house, gritty retro flavours and a hat-tip to A Tribe Called Quest.

Arturo GarcesBorn and raised in San Jose, California, Arturo Garces has been surrounded by dance music his entire life. The son of a serious collector of funk, soul and disco records, Arturo grew up listening to the roots of house music. These early influences are evident in his works as a DJ and producer today.  After getting hold of a sampler in 1995 Arturo has gone on to release music on labels such as Subliminal, Jump Recordings, Solid Trax, Plush, Trax Café, Audio Abuse and Do Box.  A DJ since age 15, Arturo has played throughout the U.S. & regularly spins in the Bay Area, including his own ‘Get Down’ party, inviting established underground house heads to grace the decks on a weekly basis.

The first remix comes from Mustafa, also known as ‘4:20’ and the bootlegging ‘Harry Knuckles’, who has released music on established house labels including Subliminal Soul, Yellorange, Classic and Azuli.

jump_logoE.B.E. aka Lucas Rodenbush has an educational background in electronic music which began with him studying the subject at high-school and later saw him complete a BFA in Music Technology and an MFA in Experimental Sound Practices.  Beginning his production career in techno circles, Rodenbush has released music under various guides, but most commonly E.B.E., for labels such as Soma, Plastic City, Transmat, Grayhound and Afterhours.

TBF
