This double album features many of the great Brazilian jazz bossa groups involved in the bossa nova explosion of the early 1960s. The amazing hard driving music, played by these groups who backed the famous bossa nova singers of the day - Elis Regina, Jorge Ben,João Gilberto - became known as hard bossa or samba jazz. Sergio Mendes, Raul de Souza, Airto Moreira, Deodato, Edu Lobo - all of these artists started their careers here - all pioneering, creative musicians who defined a musical genre.

Released between 1998 and 2004 Far Out’s five-volume Brazilian Love Affair became one of the best loved and most successful Latin chill-out compilation series. Contributions come from legends of Brazilian music such as Joyce, Marcos Valle and Azymuth, rediscovered in the UK as underground jazz deejays brought Brazilian music back to the fore. This movement evolved as Far Out further developed the links between Brazil and Europe enabling collaborations featured from leading producers including 4 Hero, Osunlade, Kirk Degiorgio and Mark Pritchard produced as new sub-genres such as Drum & Bossa, Nu-Samba and Nu-Bossa emerged allowing more people to experience the beauty of Brazilian music. Mzee's follow up to the smash hit Mahwuelele brings serious deep afro vibes for the dance floor. We proudly present a tribute to South African music legend Kampi Moto, who joined Ocha Record's Mzee for one of his final recordings before his passing and created the song Umoja with Mzee. We enlisted the help of some of the leaders of the new school to do their magic on the remix tip and we were not dissapointed. Culoe de Song and Boddhi Satva lead the charge with some very heavy beats, while Areo Manyelo, and Mushroom Boys bring the Afro-tech sound in a very big way that will move any dancefloor. The 2nd song on this release, The Flute Song is treated to an infectious dance floor makeover by Mzee labelmate Ezel. Brazilian Soul Crew also gives The Flute Song alot of love with their mix, while DJ Cecil simply abuses the track with appropriately titled Beatdown remix.
