Mzee's follow up to the smash hit Mahwuelele brings serious deep afro vibes for the dance floor. We proudly present a tribute to South African music legend Kampi Moto, who joined Ocha Record's Mzee for one of his final recordings before his passing and created the song Umoja with Mzee. We enlisted the help of some of the leaders of the new school to do their magic on the remix tip and we were not dissapointed. Culoe de Song and Boddhi Satva lead the charge with some very heavy beats, while Areo Manyelo, and Mushroom Boys bring the Afro-tech sound in a very big way that will move any dancefloor. The 2nd song on this release, The Flute Song is treated to an infectious dance floor makeover by Mzee labelmate Ezel. Brazilian Soul Crew also gives The Flute Song alot of love with their mix, while DJ Cecil simply abuses the track with appropriately titled Beatdown remix.

“Sambalanço” - samba with dancing - evokes the grooving, steamy old school clubs of Lapa, Rio de Janeiro. ‘Miss Balanço’ is a full on rootsy samba record revitalized for the 21st century by the bold and beautiful Clara Moreno. The dancing girl for a modern Brazil turns her sensuous vocal to a genre she was born to re-interpret. Building on her critically acclaimed debut ‘Meu Samba Torto’ this Brazilian star delivers her finest work to date, breathing life in to samba classics. Clara’s mother and Brazilian music icon Joyce produced the album and features alongside legends João Donato and Skowa while Orlandivo leads vocals on his classic ‘Tamanco no Samba’. ‘Miss Balanço’ is an essential recording that looks back but with brilliant originality.
