The new “Pearl Diver” continues with compiling the biggest and most shiny pearls of lounge music on CD. This time Lemongrass dived into the clear blue sea to pick up an outstanding collection of pearls. Lemongrass alias Roland Voss educated himself in music in three decades. After playing drums in rock bands, funk groups and jazz ensembles during the seventies he explored the possibilities of electronic instruments in the eighties. Before signing at Mole Listening Pearls in 1999 for his first album Lumière Obscure he went his way through diverse musical styles like Drum’n’Bass, Lounge, Jazz, Trip Hop, Jungle, Hip Hop and Ambient to figure out where he could find his place in the electronic music landscape and released his very first album “Drumatic Universe” on Incoming!. Until now he has released more than ten Lemongrass albums on Mole Listening Pearls and made his timeless soundart to an institution in lounge music. In 2008 he summarized the best tracks of the late Lemongrass albums (“Fleure Solaire”, “Ikabana”, “Filmothèque”, “Pour L’Amour”) to a best-of-album called “Beach Affairs”. In 2005 he founded his own label Lemongrassmusic with his younger brother where he created his own platform to support new artists and to start his own compilation series “Lounge Du Soleil” and “Lemongrass Garden”.

Arturo Garces’ ‘Luv’ has been in the pipeline for some time. After initially being featured on Eddie Richards’ promo-only mix in support of his Fabric CD back in 2004, ‘Luv’ is now finally set to see the light of day on Garces’ own label Jump Recordings, which is based in San Jose, California. Alongside Garces’ original version and ‘408 Edit’, remixes are provided by Mustafa (of Subliminal Soul/Yellorange fame), E.B.E. (Lucas Rodenbush), TBF (aka Tiberiu Fratila) and U-Clique (a new alias for Clique Trax owners and Om Records artists Uneaq). The six versions cover warm deep grooves, chunky dancefloor house, gritty retro flavours and a hat-tip to A Tribe Called Quest.
Rafael Accorsi - The Return - Lunatic Jazz

I just listened to São Paulo's house DJ /producer Rafael Accorsi and his EP The Return, released on Lunatic Jazz label. It's very interesting to hear Brazilian take on dirty funky house production. First track The Return is funky tech beat with great club perspective and nicely sampled vocal. It's funk, but deep and tech funk. Next, I really enjoyed in The Fog theme. I don't know if this is released or it will be soon, but it's great tech house, deep and dark. The Fog was included with my promo, but when I visited Lunatic Jazz on Stompy page, I found Good Luck track instead? Anyway, that one is also dry funk! But, I must say that Flut (SoundDiggers Remix) is 100% dope. Catchy funky tune. Check out this EP and download tracks here.

I just checked this great new release from Italian duo Souldynamics (Lukyno and Steve) released on Purple Music. With a fantastic vocal performance by Gospel House Music queen Susu Bobien, they delivered one excellent track 99 & Half in many different versions. This EP contains 10 mixes and original, and I'm pretty sure that everyone will find different favorites. My favorite versions are: Original, Organ Dub, Dolls Combers Organ Mix & Fiorese vs Sisco Newfunk Mix. But, you'll also find Original Instrumental, Club Mix, Born to Funk Vocal & Instrumental as well as M&S Nebbia Vox, Dub & Instrumental. Download here
Peckos Sensual Strawberry Soda - Lost My Dog

Peckos is back on Lost My Dog following his extremely well received debut ‘Belgian Nights EP’ and two remixes of Bernard Jones’ ‘Don’t You Wish’. ‘Sensual Strawberry Soda’ by the young Belgian producer is a deep and funky workout with Chicago influenced beats, strings and a well placed female vocal snippet. Remixes come from fellow Leuven-based producer Raoul Belmans, who is best known as one half of Swirl People, the Netherland’s Tommy Largo and another new Lost My Dog signing, Danny Stott.
Peckos’ star continues to rise and following the release of his ‘Belgian Nights EP’ for Lost My Dog in May 2009 he has gone on to release music for Shak Digital and Bridge City. His debut Lost My Dog EP received press support across Europe including 5/5 ‘Essential Release’ status in DMC Update (UK), a rave review from Beatburguer (Spain) and was included in the top 20 chart in De-Bug (Germany). DJs showing their support included Lovebirds, DJ Sneak and JT Donaldson. Alongside this original material the man from the home of Stella Artois has forthcoming remixes on LMD of Jay West and Danny Stott.
